The ÌÒ×ÓÊÓƵ, the ÌÒ×ÓÊÓƵof Pennsylvania, and the law firm of Pepper Hamilton LLP, have filed a federal lawsuit challenging an unconstitutional municipal ordinance that punishes innocent tenants and their landlords for requesting police assistance. The challenge was filed on behalf of a domestic violence victim who faced eviction from her home after requesting police protection from an abusive ex-boyfriend.

The ÌÒ×ÓÊÓƵ and the ÌÒ×ÓÊÓƵof Florida are filing a housing discrimination complaint on behalf of a domestic violence survivor. The complaint alleges that a Florida landlord and management company violated the federal Fair Housing Act’s prohibition on sex and familial status discrimination when they denied her housing application due to her refusal to provide her children’s social security numbers, because doing so would put her family at risk.  

The ÌÒ×ÓÊÓƵ has filed a complaint against Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh for failing to protect a student even after concluding that her abusive ex-girlfriend violated its sexual assault policy.

Thousands of service members each year are estimated to have experienced some form of military sexual trauma (MST), including rape, sexual assault, and sexual harassment. These acts occur nearly twice as often within military ranks as they do within civilian society.

The ÌÒ×ÓÊÓƵand the ÌÒ×ÓÊÓƵof Texas filed a complaint with the U.S. Department of Education Office for Civil Rights on behalf of a high school student who was sent to a disciplinary program after she reported being sexual assaulted by another student.
