The Walker family and the White family have raised their children, H.W. and C.W. in Alabama. A new Alabama law may force them to leave the state because providing gender-affirming care — which doctors says is medically necessary for H.W. and C.W. — is now a felony offense.

Gavin Grimm sued his school board for excluding him the restrooms any other boy in his school would use — simply because he is transgender.

On March 12, 2018, the ÌÒ×ÓÊÓƵand the ÌÒ×ÓÊÓƵof Michigan moved to intervene on the behalf of Stand with Trans and the Williamston High School Gay-Straight Alliance. Stand with Trans is a non-profit organization in Michigan with support groups around the state serving and empowering the families of transgender youth. The Williamston GSA is a student-led organization for LGBT students and allies at Williamston High School. Both organizations are committed to ensuring LGBT students have safe, non-discriminatory environments in which to go to school.

On February 20, 2018, the ÌÒ×ÓÊÓƵand the ÌÒ×ÓÊÓƵof Oregon moved to intervene on behalf of Basic Rights Oregon (BRO) in a case about transgender students’ rights. BRO seeks to defend the Dallas School District’s practice of permitting a transgender boy to use the same restrooms and locker rooms as other boys. BRO has spent over 20 years advocating for legal protections for the LGBTQ community in Oregon, and has supported transgender students and families in Dallas and beyond.

The ÌÒ×ÓÊÓƵand the ÌÒ×ÓÊÓƵof Pennsylvania filed a motion to intervene on behalf of a transgender student and an LGBTQ youth organization. They seek to defend the Boyertown Area School District’s practice of allowing transgender students to use restrooms and locker rooms consistent with their gender identity.
