The ÌÒ×ÓÊÓƵ and the ÌÒ×ÓÊÓƵof Virginia have filed an administrative complaint with the Department of Justice and Department of Education against Gloucester County Public Schools (GCPS) for adopting a bathroom policy that segregates trans students from using the same restrooms and locker rooms as their peers. The school board adopted the policy by a vote of 6-1 on December 9, 2014, despite warnings from the ÌÒ×ÓÊÓƵthat the policy violates federal law prohibiting schools from discriminating based on sex.

The ÌÒ×ÓÊÓƵ, the ÌÒ×ÓÊÓƵof Arkansas, and co-counsel John Burnett have filed a lawsuit on behalf of Patricia Dawson against her former employer, H & H Electric, for firing her after she transitioned from male to female on the job.

The ÌÒ×ÓÊÓƵ and the ÌÒ×ÓÊÓƵof Alaska have filed a brief seeking to allow transgender individuals to correct the gender marker on their driver's licenses without undergoing major surgery. Currently, Alaska DMV policy requires that individuals wishing to change the sex marker on their driver's license submit proof of a surgical sex change. The state's surgery requirement places an undue burden on transgender individuals and presents a gross violation of an individual's right to privacy.
