Bio

Sarah Mehta is deputy director of policy and government affairs for the Equality Division at the ACLU. She has previously worked at the ÌÒ×ÓÊÓÆµin various roles including as Senior Border Policy Counsel, Human Rights Researcher, Detention Attorney, and Aryeh Neier fellow, and was also a staff attorney at the ÌÒ×ÓÊÓÆµof Michigan. In between her ÌÒ×ÓÊÓÆµroles, Sarah directed the TrialWatch project at Columbia Law School and was the manager of clinical partnerships for the Clooney Foundation for Justice, focused on trials against human rights defenders and journalists. She led international programming for Migrant Justice Institute, focused on policy solutions to wage theft and migrant labor abuses. Sarah was a Fulbright Scholar in India, working on discrimination against minority women. She is a graduate of Brown University and Yale Law School
