Joaqu铆n Carca帽o is a 27-year-old transgender man who works at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (鈥淯NC-CH鈥�) at the Institute for Global Health and Infectious Disease.聽 The project that he coordinates provides medical education and services such as HIV testing to the Latino/a population.聽 Prior to his job at UNC, Mr. Carca帽o served in the U.S. Peace Corps. as a Community Health Promoter in rural Andean Peru, where he facilitated a teen health program and vaccination campaigns.聽
